About Us

Pretoria East was one of the most desirable areas in Pretoria. We intend to keep it that way.

In recent years our area has suffered from increasing crime, urban decay, and the rise of informal settlements — including squatter camps, an old landfill site, and open spaces occupied by illegal occupiers. This has led to smoke, noise, waste pollution, illegal dumping, crime, and street hawkers — to the frustration of property tax-paying residents.

While the City of Tshwane is responsible for municipal service delivery, the reality is that we cannot rely solely on government institutions to maintain our suburb. As a community, we must unite, take initiative, and hold authorities accountable.

Our framework

The Broken Window Theory

The CCF's entire approach is guided by this 1982 criminology principle from James Q. Wilson and George L. Kelling: visible signs of neglect, disorder, and minor crime contribute to a broader breakdown in community safety and lawfulness.

We use this as the framework to restore order and pride — starting small, staying visible, and refusing to normalise decay.
